About Our Brass Nameplates
Engraved brass nameplates produce a classic look for framed artwork and sculptures. Artists of all kinds will appreciate the longevity and stability of a brass nameplate. We are proud to offer these engraved nameplates for your artwork. We use high quality brass and engrave them using a laser engraver for a clean, precise finish but can also do diamond drag and rotary engraving for a more traditional look of fine engraving on a real metal.
Our nameplates are made from real brass. We offer different finishes including gold satin and a select few in yellow gold satin, while others are coated with a colored enamel, such as black, which when engraved, then reveals the lettering in a gold, brass color. These are our black brass nameplates. Our final option is a nickel silver brass nameplate, which has a silver color and, when engraved, the engraving is oxidized to increase the legibility of the text.
Brass nameplates allow for the title of the artwork to be permanently affixed to the picture frame. They also assist with attribution when signatures are obscured or hard to read. Brass plates can be affixed with either adhesives, nails, brads, or screws. When observed in an art gallery or a juried art show, engraved brass nameplates clearly identify the artist and subject matter for the collector. Brass nameplates are perfect for attaching to picture frames and sculpture bases for this reason.
